Tournament Protocol:
We ask that North American clubs work collaboratively to avoid double booking tournaments on the same dates. While tournaments often draw nearby clubs the heaviest, it’s most helpful for the growth and sustainability of the soccer scene to offset dates.
All tournaments should have a host club, even if it is not in the home market of the club. It may make sense for a northern team to host a warm weather winter tournament, or there may be destinations who want to lure LGBTQ+ soccer to their town. We are unable to endorse tournaments in locations that conflict with LGBTQ+ safety and values. For an agreed up fee, that will be distributed to clubs who participate, a convention and visitors bureau can seek to partner and host a tournament as long as it does not conflict with existing tournaments.
Tournaments must place the player experience and player interests first. Costs should be wisely managed, and players fees should not subsidize out of state match officials costs. Tournaments should seek to recruit and utilize LGBTQplus match officials and other staff first.
